Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars updates the original game with several gameplay refinements and new characters. A new online play option lets players challenge players across the world. The original cast returns, except for Hakushon Daimaoh, and is joined by several new characters: Tatsunoko side:

• Joe the Condor (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, a.k.a. Battle of the Planets)
• Tekkaman Blade (Tekkaman Blade)
• Yatterman-2 (Yatterman)

Capcom side:

• Frank West (Dead Rising)
• Zero (Mega Man X)
